Message to All

Best Wishes"Hello All,
I would say my association with Prasar Bharati was quite accidental. I met, had a word and here I am working as Media Interlocutor (this is my official designation, which I find difficult to pronounce :) ) Anyways....

Though now, I am formally attached with the organisation, but my curiosity dates back to 1997 when I had to prepare my 1st paper on the autonomy issue of DD and AIR for my term paper at the graduation level. Since then it has become a part of me. I still can't forget the echoing, strong voice of Amin Sayani of Binaca Geetmala. As a young girl I was his die-hard fan and would listen to him very attentively. Still wonder what I used to understand since I barely 6 years old. Later in life I was tuned to my radio set for news bulletins (bulletin was the new word which was to be used.)

There are so many things to share about the other wing of Prasar Bharati--Doordarshan--Asiad--the Appu came to our home with our new B&W Televista Western. Open-Shut door impressed us so much. Wow! those were the days, happy carefree days of DD and AIR--no competition but happiness galore. I wish to bring back old DD and AIR glory and wish Indian's identify with their rich heritage that is working under the aegis of Prasar Bharati--the institution."

New Year Message

‘ World Radio Day - Remembering Akashvani

Radio is still the medium reaching widest population in the world. Radio waves by their very nature are truly democratic – Reaching everybody alike, transgressing the man made boundaries of caste, creed, colour, religion, nationality and economic inequalities.

It is the most powerful tool to influence minds and hearts of people. On 12th Novemebr 1947, while visiting Delhi centre of All India Radio, Mahatma Gandhi had rightly said – I see Shakti in it. The miraculous power of God…

On the occasion of World Radio Day, I extend my heartiest greetings to you all and would call upon each one of you to give your best to serve the humanity through this wonderful medium.

Best wishes to PB Parivar
